Show car, Shepherd part of charity event in Ohio

PORTSMOUTH, OH – The Glockner Family of Dealerships in Portsmouth, Ohio will hold their 6th annual “Christmas Kids” Charity Cruise-In, Saturday Sept. 18th from 5-9pm.

NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers Morgan Shepherd and Brett Rowe are scheduled to appear for a “Meet and Greet” autograph session. Along with Shepherd and Rowe will be the #89 Victory In Jesus race car on display.

The Glockner Family of Dealerships is the very first Chevrolet dealership in the state of Ohio and proud supporter of Victory In Jesus Racing. One of the many Glockner Family Charities is the “Christmas Kids” charity that raises funding for “Childrens Services” so that children without families can have a Christmas.

All proceeds go to purchases of toys and clothing for those less fortunate. Each year an estimated 300 show cars and trucks and over 2,000 people attend the event. All food and activities are free. Only donations are accepted.

“Last year we raised over $8,000 for Children’s Services”. says Dave Pack, Glockner employee and director of the event. “It takes roughly $100 per child to assure that they have a Christmas with some new clothing and a toy. Each year we try to do something different. We’ve given away a 350-V8 small block engine, a car, and other great prizes at the end of each event. As a proud supporter of the Victory In Jesus race team we are looking forward and excited about the possibility of having Morgan Shepherd and Brett Rowe making an appearance. This is very similiar to the Morgan Shepherd Charitable Fund, and Morgan and Brett want very much to attend. Fortunately for us, this is an off-weekend for Morgan and Brett and we hope that they can find it in their schedule. They both certainly stay very busy. To donate their time says alot about who they are and how much they support our Christmas Kids Charity.”
